There are some things we quit because they became a problem.
And there are some things we let go of simply because they no longer feel aligned.
That’s how it was for me and alcohol.
When my husband and I decided to go alcohol-free at the end of 2023, it wasn’t because something dramatic happened. We weren’t drinking every day. We weren’t out of control. We had just reached a point where the math wasn’t mathing.
The pros? A little social ease. A familiar ritual. A sense of temporary relief.
The cons? Sleep disruption. Anxiety the next morning. Foggy thinking. Lower energy. Feeling less connected, less clear.
And so we decided: maybe it was time for something different.
We had already cut back over the years. As our lifestyle evolved and wellness became more central to our lives, alcohol naturally became less of a fit. By the end, we were only drinking a couple times a month on date nights or at social gatherings. But even those occasions left us feeling… off.
Not broken. Just… not better.
I don’t judge alcohol. I get why people enjoy it. There is a sense of relief in the disconnection it offers. It can numb what feels too big, too loud, too uncomfortable. And for a long time, I didn’t even realize that’s what I was reaching for.
But choosing to let it go brought up a lot.
At first, it was awkward. Especially socially. We’re so programmed to associate alcohol with celebration, relaxation, even belonging. I noticed my own social anxiety more clearly without something to blur the edges. I noticed how often I used alcohol to smooth out discomfort, to avoid being fully seen.
I also noticed how others responded. The way my choice made them uncomfortable at times. The way our culture often treats “not drinking” as a statement, even when it isn’t meant to be.
So I found new rituals.
Sparkling water with lime. Beautiful mocktails. Something fun in hand to mark the moment.
But more importantly, I found something deeper.
Psychedelics, with intention, presence, and care helped me begin to open parts of myself I hadn’t touched in years.
Not as a replacement for alcohol. But as a way of returning to myself.
It wasn’t about numbing.
It was about feeling.
Where alcohol disconnected me from the moment, these experiences helped me drop in.
I found joy again.
Love again.
Presence.
Depth.
I laughed more. Cried more. Felt more myself than ever.
Some of my favorite blends for social connection?
Radiance gummies – With Kanna (heart-opening, euphoric, deeply connecting) and Yeti active mushroom (expansive, vibrant energy). These are beautiful when I want to feel open, light, and joyfully tuned in.
San Pedro + Sol gummies – A pairing that lights up connection and presence in a powerful way. (Just don’t take it too late in the evening unless you want to be up savoring life until sunrise.)
Again, this isn’t about swapping one vice for another.
This is about shifting from disconnection to devotion.
It’s not about escape.
It’s about return.
Return to clarity.
Return to self.
Return to what really matters.
And unlike alcohol—which is physically addictive and can create dependency in the body—these beautiful experiences aren’t designed to take something from you. They’re designed to give something back.
They support your nervous system, open your heart, and reconnect you with yourself.
Not numbing. Not escapism. Just presence, peace, and true connection.
And I can honestly say: I don’t miss it — not a drop.
I’m sharing this now because I know there are so many people out there who are curious.
Curious about what life might feel like without alcohol. Curious if they could really let it go—especially with so many holiday gatherings, parties, and cultural rituals tied to drinking.
If that’s you… this is just one perspective.
One experience.
One invitation to try something different.
And as we begin looking ahead to 2026, maybe this is your moment.
Your reset.
Your alcohol-free year.
If so, I hope these words remind you:
There’s a beautiful way to do that.
And you don’t have to do it alone.
Quitting alcohol has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself, my relationship, and my overall well-being.
Not because I “had to” change something.
But because something in me knew there was more.
And it turns out, there was.
And while this was my personal story of simply choosing to let alcohol go… I’ve also witnessed something much bigger.
Over the years, we’ve received hundreds of messages from people using these experiences—not just as part of a wellness routine, but as part of their recovery.
People who’ve struggled with alcohol addiction, opioid addiction, even emotional dependence, who’ve found support, relief, and long-lasting transformation using psychedelics.
I don’t say this lightly: this has become one of the greatest honors of our work.
Especially because, for me, addiction runs deep in my lineage.
My father was an alcoholic.
My brothers.
My uncles.
I’ve seen firsthand what addiction can do to families.
And I’ve seen firsthand what freedom looks like, too.
There is nothing more beautiful than someone remembering who they are.
Reclaiming their light.
Returning to peace.
This isn’t a cure.
But it is a powerful tool.
A support.
A sacred ally in the journey back home to yourself.
If you’re curious about living with more presence… more joy… more depth…
You’re not alone.
We’re walking that path, too.
